Case #: 96 of 2022
Anthony Thompson And Disciplinary Tribunal of The Bahamas Bar Council

This is an application by Mr. Anthony Thompson for a stay of an order of the Disciplinary Tribunal of the Bahamas Bar Council suspending him for a period of six (6) months commencing on 10th June, 2022. Mr. Thompson has appealed that decision and is seeking a stay of that order. The position of the Bar Council is that there is no need for a stay as the appeal operates as a stay, having been filed within the necessary timeframe. In the circumstances, there is really no lis for us to determine. There is no dispute between the parties and given that there is no dispute between the parties, there is no need for the court to make any order.
